Teaching and healing were vital
elements in Jesus' ministry. Parish Nursing returns healing to its
origins...the Church!
"...and Jesus
sent them out to proclaim the kingdom fo God and to heal."--Luke 9:2
"I came that
they may have life, and have it abundantly."--John 10:10
By enabling our church to be
a place of healing, Parish Nursing is an effective way to further the
mission of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church: "to cultivate life in
relationship with Jesus Christ among God's people. Led by the Holy Spirit,
we seek to spread the good news of God's forgiveness and love through
worship, the grace of the sacraments, and the love of fellowship, in Jesus
Christ."
Our Parish Nurse is Kay
Seppala.
The primary objective of the
parish nurse is to facilitate a holistic health ministry, assisting
congregational members to achieve the fullness of life promised by God; to
assist the mission of the church; to promote body, mind and spirit wellness
through a variety of programs; and to assess the needs of the congregation
and evaluate effectiveness of any intervention.
